AC installation and replacement is where the next 12 to 15 years of your comfort and energy bills are decided. Air Comfort Solutions LLC does both the way they have to be done to earn that lifespan: sized by a room-by-room load calculation, charged by instrument, and performance-verified before we call it done. Family owned, TDLR-licensed and EPA-certified, we have installed and serviced cooling systems across the north Houston area for 35+ years, with a 5.0-star Google rating across 137 reviews and BBB accreditation since 2020.
Is this an installation or a replacement?
Installation is the right word for a new build, a home addition, a first central-air system, or a second system for a larger or zoned home. Replacement is when you are taking out an old or failed system and putting new equipment in its place — the same install craftsmanship, framed around the repair-versus-replace decision. Either way the work is identical where it counts, and so is the pledge: flat-rate pricing agreed before we start, and no system sold that you do not need.
How do you know it's time to replace instead of repair?
Age plus repair cost is the honest test. When a system is past ten years old and facing a four-figure repair, replacement usually wins the math — especially now. New systems ship with A2L refrigerants (R-32 and R-454B) under federal rules, and as R-410A supplies tighten, every major repair on an older unit gets more expensive. We always give you both numbers, repair and replace, side by side. Start with AC repair and service if your system is younger — a failed capacitor is not a reason to buy a new air conditioner, and we'll tell you so.
Why does sizing matter more than the brand?
Because an oversized air conditioner is worse than a slightly undersized one in this climate, and almost nobody expects that. Cooling is only half the job here; the other half is pulling humidity out of the air, and that happens during long, steady run cycles. An oversized system satisfies the thermostat quickly, shuts off, and leaves the house cold and clammy — then short-cycles its way to an early compressor failure. An undersized one never catches up in August. The only way to get it right is a load calculation on your actual home: square footage, insulation, window area and orientation, ductwork, air leakage, shading. A rule of thumb based on square footage alone is how most systems end up wrong.
What does the work actually include?
It begins before the equipment is ordered, with that load calculation. On a replacement we also evaluate the existing ductwork and airflow rather than inheriting the last system's problems — if the ducts were the real complaint, new equipment on the same ducts repeats it. On the day: a proper line set and refrigerant charge verified by gauges, airflow measured and balanced, condensate handling done right with a proper trap and secondary protection, the thermostat calibrated and configured for the equipment's actual staging, and a complete performance test with the numbers explained in plain language. We install every brand of HVAC equipment, and Daikin and Trane are the lines we currently sell. We explain SEER2 ratings in the only units that matter — dollars on your utility bill.
What should you expect on installation day?
Most residential installations finish in one day. Jobs involving ductwork changes, a second system, or difficult attic access can run into a second, and we tell you which yours is in the flat-rate quote before work begins rather than discovering it halfway through. We protect floors and walkways, keep the work area contained, and clean up before we leave. At the end the technician walks you through what was installed, what was measured, and how to operate the thermostat — and the paperwork you will need if you ever make a warranty claim.
What goes wrong when the work is rushed?
Almost every so-called bad air conditioner is really a bad installation. Oversized equipment short-cycles, never wrings humidity out of our Gulf Coast air, and wears out early. An incorrect refrigerant charge quietly bleeds efficiency and shortens compressor life. Undersized ductwork or a sloppy plenum chokes airflow and freezes coils. A condensate line run without a trap backs up into a ceiling. None of it is visible from the hallway — which is why the installer's license and habits matter far more than the brand on the box.
What about the warranty?
Manufacturer parts coverage depends on two things most homeowners only learn about when they need it: proper installation by a licensed contractor, and documented annual maintenance. Skipping either is a common reason claims get denied. We register the equipment, give you the documentation, and the $159/yr maintenance plan keeps the service record intact without you having to remember.
What proof stands behind the work?

Frequently asked questions
How long does a new AC installation take?
Most residential installations are completed in one day; complex jobs with ductwork changes or a second system can run into a second day. We give you the timeline in the flat-rate quote before work begins.
What size air conditioner do I need?
The right size comes from a load calculation on your specific home, not a rule of thumb. Oversized systems short-cycle and leave your home humid; we size by the math and show you the result.
Do you install high-efficiency and A2L-refrigerant systems?
Yes. New systems use A2L refrigerants (R-32 and R-454B) and higher SEER2 ratings; we explain the options in real utility-bill dollars and flag any that may qualify for utility efficiency rebates. Ask us what's current before you buy.
Which brands do you install?
We service every brand of HVAC equipment, including systems we did not sell and units another company installed. Daikin and Trane are the lines we currently sell, and we recommend the best fit for your home and budget.
