Straight answers. No jargon, no runaround.
Everything Tomball, Pinehurst & north Houston homeowners ask us about scheduling, pricing, cooling, heating, and air quality — answered the same way we’d answer at your kitchen table.
Scheduling & Service
Does Air Comfort Solutions LLC really offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes — we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. When your AC quits during a Texas heat wave or your furnace fails on a cold morning, call (832) 863-8325 and a member of our family answers, not a call center.
How fast can a technician get to my home?
Every scheduled call comes with a two-hour arrival window, and for emergencies we dispatch the next available technician from our Pinehurst headquarters. Because we're based on the north side of Harris County, most Tomball, Magnolia, and Spring calls are a short drive away.
What areas do you serve?
Pinehurst, Tomball, Magnolia, Spring, Cypress, The Woodlands, Conroe, Montgomery, Willis, Plantersville, The Preserve, and the greater Houston area. If your town isn't listed, call us — we likely still cover you.
Who will be coming to my home?
A TDLR-licensed, EPA-certified Air Comfort Solutions technician who has been background-checked and drug-tested. We're family owned — the people we send to your door represent our family in your home, and we hold them to the Customer Comfort Pledge.
Pricing & Payment
How does your pricing work?
We use flat-rate, up-front pricing per job. After diagnosis, you review every option and approve the exact price before any work begins — no hourly meters, no hidden charges, no last-minute add-ons.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer easy, flexible financing options through our partner Foundation Finance, with approved credit. There's more than one plan, so once you're approved we go through the ones you qualify for and match the payment to your budget. The application takes minutes and doesn't obligate you to anything — see our Financing page for details.
Are there any discounts available?
First responders, veterans, and seniors save 10% on all service and repairs, year-round. We also run 5% off AC, heating, and zoning equipment, and a free service call with any repair. Check the Promotions page for current offers.
Do you service all brands, or only the ones you sell?
All brands. Our technicians repair and maintain every make and model of air conditioner, furnace, heat pump and air handler — including equipment we didn't sell and systems installed by another company. Daikin and Trane are the lines we currently sell for new installations.
AC & Cooling
Why is my AC running but not cooling the house?
The most common culprits in our climate are a clogged filter, low refrigerant from a leak, a failing capacitor, or a frozen evaporator coil. Turn the system off, swap the filter if it's dirty, and call us — running a struggling system in Texas heat can turn a small repair into a compressor replacement.
How often should my AC be tuned up?
Once a year, ideally in spring before the heat arrives. Gulf Coast systems run roughly seven months a year at high load, so an annual tune-up catches worn parts early, keeps efficiency up, and protects most manufacturer warranties. Our $159/yr maintenance plan includes it automatically.
Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?
A useful rule of thumb: if the system is 10+ years old and the repair costs more than a third of replacement, replacement usually wins — especially with today's higher-efficiency systems and A2L refrigerant standards. We'll give you both numbers up front and never pressure you either way.
What is the A2L refrigerant change and does it affect me?
New systems now ship with A2L refrigerants (like R-32 and R-454B) that replace R-410A under federal regulation. Existing systems can still be serviced, but as R-410A supplies tighten, repairs on older units get pricier. If your system is aging, ask us about an A2L upgrade path.
Heating & Heat Pumps
Do Houston-area homes really need furnace service?
Yes — our winters are short but the cold snaps are real, and a furnace that sat idle for nine months is exactly the one that fails on the first freezing night. A fall tune-up (included in our maintenance plan) verifies safe ignition, checks the heat exchanger, and confirms carbon-monoxide safety.
Is a heat pump a good choice for this climate?
It's one of the best climates in the country for a heat pump. Mild winters mean a heat pump heats efficiently nearly all season without backup strips, and in summer it works exactly like a high-efficiency AC. One system, both jobs, lower bills.
My heat pump is blowing cool air in heating mode — is it broken?
Not necessarily. Heat pump supply air (90–100°F) feels cooler than furnace air even when it's heating correctly, and defrost cycles briefly blow cool air by design. If the house temperature is actually dropping, though, call us — that points to a refrigerant or reversing-valve issue.
Indoor Air Quality & Maintenance Plan
Why is indoor air quality such a big deal around Houston?
Humidity. Our air carries moisture most of the year, which feeds mold, dust mites, and allergens inside ductwork and living spaces. Whole-home filtration, UV lights at the coil, ventilation, and humidity control attack the problem at the source instead of masking it.
What exactly does the $159/yr maintenance plan include?
Two scheduled visits a year (a spring AC tune-up and a fall heating tune-up), a waived service call fee, 10% off all repairs, 5% off a new system installation, and priority scheduling ahead of non-members. Most members recoup the cost with a single repair discount.
How often should I change my air filter?
Every 1–3 months for standard 1-inch filters — monthly during peak summer when the system runs hardest, and more often with pets or allergies. Thicker media filters (4–5 inch) typically last 6–12 months. It's the single cheapest thing you can do to protect your system.
